The International Academy of Periodontology (IAP) will preserve its e-journal, The Journal of the International Academy of Periodontology (JIAP), with Portico, ensuring that the publication will be secure and available into the future.
IAP was established in 1985 to improve knowledge and disseminate information about periodontics worldwide to those who have an interest in the prevention and treatment of diseases of the periodontium. The purpose of the JIAP is the advancement of knowledge of clinical periodontology throughout the world. The scope of the journal includes all aspects of the art and science of periodontology with a focus on epidemiology and treatment needs in various parts of the world, and delivery of periodontal care, including specific treatment modalities and their outcomes, and the science of the pathogenesis and healing of periodontal lesions.
“Portico is making it possible for the IAP to confidently deliver long-term, reliable access of the JIAP content for future researchers and clinical periodontists,” commented Alpodogan Kantarci, Executive Director of The International Academy of Periodontology. “Portico provides IAP with a practical and cost-effective solution for the preservation of JIAP.”
