Portico, a digital preservation service for the scholarly community (www.portico.org), is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Thieme Publishing Group to preserve its collection of 147 online journals.
Thieme Publishing Group is a privately held scientific and medical publishing house employing more than 1,000 people and maintaining offices in seven cities, including New York, Delhi, Beijing, Stuttgart and three other locations in Germany. Founded in 1886, the Thieme name has become synonymous with high quality and excellence in medical and scientific publishing.
Through this agreement with Portico, Thieme ensures that its online journal collection will be preserved and available for future scholars, researchers and students. Thieme has named Portico as a mechanism to fill post-cancellation access claims and has also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico.
With the inclusion of Thieme’s publications, over 8,200 e-journals and 4,400 e-books have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of e-journals is available at /digital-preservation/who-participates-in-portico/participating-titles/ and a list of participating publishers is available at /digital-preservation/who-participates-in-portico/participating-publishers/.
