Portico Announces Digital Preservation Agreement with INFORMS

Portico is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) to preserve its online collection of 12 journals. INFORMS is the largest society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research. It was established in 1995 with the merger of the Operations Research Society of America (ORSA) and The Institute of Management Sciences (TIMS).

Through this agreement with Portico, INFORMS furthers its preservation strategy. Since 2000, INFORMS has worked with JSTOR to provide a trusted archive of the back issues of seven of its publications and through Portico, it will provide for the ongoing preservation of its electronic current issues. As part of this agreement, INFORMS will make an annual financial contribution to Portico.

With the inclusion of INFORMS’ e-journals, more than 8,400 e-journals and more than 5,600 e-books have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete lists of titles and participating publishers are available at www.portico.org.
