Portico Announces Digital Preservation Agreement with the Association for Computing Machinery

Portico (www.portico.org) is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) to preserve approximately 400 publications from the ACM Digital Library, including journals, magazines, newsletters, transactions, and proceedings.

The ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery (www.acm.org), is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, uniting computing educators, researchers and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field’s challenges.

Through its agreement with Portico, the ACM ensures that its entire collection of online publications is preserved and available for future scholars, researchers, and students. The ACM has also named Portico as a mechanism to fill post-cancellation access claims and agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico.

With the inclusion of the ACM’s online publications, over 10,500 e-journals and 28,000 e-books from 87 publishers on behalf of over 2,000 societies and associations have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of titles and participating publishers is available at www.portico.org.
