Portico Seeks Community Input on Preservation of DOAJ Journals

As the number of Open Access journals continues to increase, many librarians have asked Portico to expand its preservation work with Open Access publishers. Portico already preserves nearly 350 Open Access titles from its current publisher participants but we need your help to identify additional titles of greatest concern.

We invite librarians to visit our website and fill out a simple feedback form to share with us their top ten preservation priorities from the Directory of Open Access Journals. With your feedback, we can prioritize our own efforts and begin working to preserve DOAJ titles that are of most importance to you. So that we can initiate publisher outreach during the 4th quarter of this year, your response by September 30th would be greatly appreciated.

Over 10,000 e-journals and 27,000 e-books from 75 publishers on behalf of more than 2,000 societies and associations have been entrusted to the Portico archive. A complete list of titles and participating publishers is available at www.portico.org.

We thank you in advance for taking the time to help us in this endeavor, and as always, we appreciate your continued support of Portico. If you have any questions or comments about the survey, please contact us at info@portico.org.
