Consortium Savings

Portico is eager to collaborate with consortia to promote its new archiving service to the library community. By working with consortia leaders on outreach activities, Portico can recognize modest savings and is willing to pass these savings directly back to consortia members.

Upon signing the Portico journal archive license, a library belonging to a consortium that has agreed to promote Portico will receive a 5% reduction in their Annual Archive Support payment.

In addition to the consortia savings, libraries initiating support with Portico in 2007 will be recognized as an Archive Founder and receive 10% savings in each of the first five years of their participation. This savings will be added to the 5% consortia savings.

A library consortium seeking to assist Portico in performing Outreach to its members is asked to sign a Portico Letter of Understanding (View Letter of Understanding). Library consortia that have signed the Letter of Understanding are:

Libraries will be eligible to receive the 5% savings toward their Portico Annual Archive Support payment, following execution of the Letter of Understanding by their consortium's governing body.
