Portico to archive journals owned by Cambridge University Press

Portico is pleased to welcome Cambridge University Press as its newest publisher participant. Cambridge University Press is the publishing and printing house of the University of Cambridge and is one of the largest academic publishers in the world. The Press publishes a wide range of academic and educational books, journals, examination papers and Bibles. Currently, they produce nearly 200 journals for the global market, publishing the latest research in subjects from architecture to world trade. More than 115 journal publications are owned by the Press itself, while others are published on behalf of learned and professional societies.

Cambridge University Press has a long-standing commitment to preservation, and has been archiving select titles with JSTOR since 1998. Through this agreement with Portico, the Press ensures that all journals owned by the Press are preserved and available for future scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students.

In addition, the Cambridge University Press has offered to facilitate the archiving of titles from their society partners in Portico, and the Press will make an annual financial contribution to Portico as well.

With the inclusion of journals owned by Cambridge University Press, over 6,000 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of journal titles is available at http://www.portico.org/about/committed_titles_alpha.html and a list of participating publishers is available at http://www.portico.org/about/part_publishers.html.

Please visit the Portico website to view a current list of participating libraries http://www.portico.org/about/participating_libraries.html.
