The Ecological Society of America and Portico sign archiving agreementPortico is pleased to welcome the Ecological Society of America (ESA) to its growing list of publisher participants. Founded in 1915, ESA is a non-profit, professional society of over 9,000 members that conduct research, teach, and use ecological science to address a wide range of environmental issues. Through its reports, journals, research, and expert testimony to Congress, ESA seeks to promote the responsible application of ecological data and principles to the solution of environmental problems. The Ecological Society of America has a long-standing commitment to preservation, and began archiving all of its titles with JSTOR in 1998. Through this agreement with Portico, ESA continues its commitment to preserve its journals for future scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students. In addition, ESA has designated the Portico archive as an official delivery platform for post-cancellation access claims. With the inclusion of ESA journals, over 6,000 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of journal titles is available at http://www.portico.org/about/committed_titles_alpha.html and a list of participating publishers is available at http://www.portico.org/about/part_publishers.html. Please visit the Portico website to view a current list of participating libraries http://www.portico.org/about/participating_libraries.html. Last updated on March 30, 2007 |
