Portico to archive journal collection from the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) has formally agreed to preserve their thirteen journal titles with Portico (www.portico.org). SIAM was founded in 1952 with a mission to “ensure the strongest interactions between mathematics and other scientific and technological communities.” Their publications reach an international membership that exceeds 10,000 people.

SIAM joins the growing list of society publishers that have chosen to work collectively with JSTOR and Portico to preserve their journal content. For the past ten years, JSTOR has been preserving three SIAM journals, SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, and SIAM Review. Through this archiving agreement with Portico, SIAM makes certain its entire collection is preserved for future scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students.

SIAM has also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to support Portico’s ongoing operations and has designated Portico as an official delivery platform for post-cancellation access claims.

With the inclusion of SIAM’s journal publications, over 3,400 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The list of participating publishers is available at http://portico.org/about/part_publishers.html.
