The American Institute of Physics partners with Portico to preserve electronic journals

Portico is pleased to welcome the American Institute of Physics (AIP) as its newest publisher participant. Founded in 1931, AIP is a not-for-profit corporation with a mission to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics and related fields of science and engineering and its applications to human welfare. AIP, and its ten Member Societies, advance the field of physics through scientific communications in journals and meetings, and by providing programs and services to the physics community.

Through this archiving agreement, Portico will preserve AIP journals and proceedings that are published electronically. As part of the agreement, Portico will archive the back issues of all AIP publications, starting with the first issue of each that was originally published electronically. In addition, AIP will make an annual financial contribution to support Portico’s ongoing operations.

With the inclusion of journals from AIP, over 3,600 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The list of participating publishers is available at http://portico.org/about/part_publishers.html.
