Portico Hosts 2^nd Annual Participants' Meeting

On June 23, 2007 at the ALA Annual Conference in Washington D.C., Portico hosts its 2^nd Annual Participants' Meeting. The meeting featured presentations by Anne Kenney, Interim University Librarian, Cornell University Library and Richard Fyffe, Librarian of the College, Grinell College. Ms. Kenney reviewed the findings and recommendations of the 2006 report from the Council on Library and Information (CLIR) that compared the 12 major e-journal archiving initiatives while Mr. Fyffe offered his perspective on how the lessons learned about print preservation can be useful in the community's efforts to preserve digital materials. Eileen Fenton, Portico's Executive Director, provided an update on library and publisher participation in the e-journal archiving service and outlined Portico's recent technology expansion to increase the Archive's journal ingestion rate.
