The Johns Hopkins University Press Partners with Portico for Preserving Journal Content

Portico is pleased to announce that The Johns Hopkins University Press has signed an agreement with Portico to preserve its entire collection of journal titles. Founded in 1878, the JHU Press is America's oldest university press. The JHU Press is also one of the world's largest university presses, publishing 61 scholarly periodicals and more than 200 new books each year.

Since 1996, the JHU Press has been archiving select titles with JSTOR. Through this agreement with Portico, the JHU Press enhances this long-standing commitment to preserving its journal content by archiving its 61 journal titles with Portico and, in combination with JSTOR, ensuring its entire collection will be available for future scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students.

In addition to supplying content, the JHU Press has agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico.

With the inclusion of the JHU Press journals, over 3,900 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The list of participating publishers is available at http://portico.org/about/part_publishers.html.
