Seismological Society of America signs archiving agreement with Portico to preserve the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America
Portico is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with the Seismological
Society of America (SSA) to preserve the Bulletin of the Seismological
Society of America. The Seismological Society of America is a
scientific society devoted to the advancement of earthquake science. Founded
in 1906 in San Francisco, the Society now has members throughout the world
representing a variety of technical interests: seismologists and other
geophysicists, geologists, engineers, insurers, and policy-makers in preparedness
and safety.
Through this agreement with Portico, SSA ensures that the Bulletin
of the Seismological Society of America is preserved and
available for future scholars, researchers, and students. In addition
to supplying journal content, the SSA has agreed to make an annual
financial contribution to Portico.
With the inclusion of SSA publications, over 6,100 titles have now
been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of titles is available
at http://www.portico.org/about/content_digitally_preserved_alpha.html and
a list of participating publishers is available at http://www.portico.org/about/part_publishers.html.
