Nature Publishing Group to archive Nature and NPG journals with Portico

Portico is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with Nature Publishing Group (NPG) to preserve Nature, the world's foremost weekly scientific journal and the flagship journal for NPG, and all journals owned by NPG. NPG publishes journals and online databases across the life, physical and applied sciences and, most recently, clinical medicine. Content encompasses daily news from award-winning journalists, expert opinion and practical methodology, and more high impact research and reviews than any science publisher. NPG also publishes a number of journals in association with prestigious academic societies, most of which are expected to opt into the Portico agreement in the coming months.

Through this agreement with Portico, NPG ensures that its publications are preserved and available for future scholars, researchers, and students. NPG has also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico and has designated the Archive as an official delivery platform for post-cancellation access claims.

With the inclusion of NPG's publications, over 6,200 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of titles is available at http://www.portico.org/about/content_digitally_preserved_alpha.html and a list of participating publishers is available at http://www.portico.org/about/part_publishers.html.
