The University of California Press partners with Portico for preserving journal contentPortico is pleased to welcome the University of California Press (UC Press) as its newest publisher participant. Founded in 1893, UC Press is one of the oldest and largest American university presses. The Journals Division of UC Press currently publishes scholarly journals in the humanities and social sciences with a concentration on anthropology, musicology, history, cultural and area studies, sociology, law, and literature. Since 1998, UC Press has been archiving select titles with JSTOR. Through this agreement with Portico, UC Press enhances their long-standing commitment to preservation by archiving its 32 journal titles with Portico and, in combination with JSTOR, ensuring its entire collection will be available for future scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students. In addition to supplying journal content, UC Press has agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico and has designated the Archive as an official delivery platform for post-cancellation access claims. With the inclusion of UC Press journal publications, over 5,300 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of journal titles is available at http://www.portico.org/about/committed_titles_alpha.html and a list of participating publishers is available at http://www.portico.org/about/part_publishers.html. Please visit the Portico website to view a current list of participating libraries http://www.portico.org/about/participating_libraries.html. Last updated on March 30, 2007 |
