The American Thoracic Society (ATS) is preserving e-journals with Portico, ensuring that their content will be secure and available into the future.

The roots of the American Thoracic Society reach back to 1905, when a small group of physicians decided that the best way to improve care for tuberculosis patients was to share their experiences and discoveries. Today, the ATS has grown into an international society with more than 16,000 members. The society publishes three journals: the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM), the American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology (AJRCMB), and Annals of the American Thoracic Society (AnnalsATS).

“We are pleased to partner with Portico, the digital archive that provides libraries and publishers with reliable preservation of electronic resources,” says Diane Gern, Chief, Journals at ATS. “Digital preservation is an important component of the additional value that libraries receive when using publisher platforms.”
