Mellon funds collaborative digital preservation project

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded a grant of $527,000 for a project to help ensure the preservation of complex new forms of digital scholarship. With New York University as lead, project partners NYU Press, Michigan Publishing, the University of Minnesota Press, Stanford University Press, and Vega Academic Publishing at Wayne State University will transfer content of varying complexity and formats to project partners CLOCKSS and Portico, two major preservation services. Portico sponsors iPRES 2019 attendees from underrepresented countries

Portico is pleased to sponsor registration for iPRES 2019 conference attendees from underrepresented countries. The awards, co-sponsored by the Dutch Digital Heritage Network, aim to expand the cultural diversity of the iPRES community. The funds cover the registration fee for the full conference package, hotel booking for five nights, and a contribution toward travel expenses. Applications are being accepted through June 30, 2019, and application review will continue until funding has been allocated. Read more

Portico places archive replica at the National Library of the Netherlands

Portico and the National Library of the Netherlands (Koninklijke Bibliotheek or KB) have partnered to establish an online replica of the Portico archive that will be hosted by the KB.
